Strategic stability concerns the global security framework and has long been a critical topic in international security studies. Traditionally, strategic stability is primarily based on strategic nuclear strike capabilities, used to analyze the stability of nuclear forces between the United States and the Soviet Union (Russia). Theoretically, there is an inherent connection between strategic stability and nuclear deterrence. Tracing back to its origins, strategic stability theory emerged during the Cold War, amid the nuclear arms race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.
